Our three-year training programme introduces you to all the skills and processes involved, and the people who make it happen. Following your own personalised training schedule, you’ll gain experience in each department. This leads up to an eight-month period in the department of your choice, where you’ll deliver a final report and presentation on a topic approved by the Chamber of Commerce.
Alongside your practical work, you’ll also attend the local Commercial school for two days per week in the first year, and one day per week in the second and third years.
What you’ll do You’ll spend between one and four months in each of the following departments, working as a full member of the team: Purchasing, Logistics and Export, Operations and Production Planning, Customer Service, Sales Support, Finance, Customer Relation, Human resources, Quality Management, Health and Safety.
Gaining experience in each of these different environments, you’ll learn where your own talents and interests lie, and gain an understanding of the commercial and technical context in which we operate. If you discover an area that really excites you, we’ll do all we can to help you explore it further.
Who we’re looking for In terms of qualifications, you’ll need at least an intermediate school-leaving certificate, including German, English and Maths.
Everyone brings their individuality to Tate & Lyle, and we value that. In addition, there are certain personal qualities that we all have in common. Primarily these are self-motivation and a high level of social competence.
If this is the kind of challenge, environment and opportunity you’re seeking, please get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.

During your training you will learn how to operate advanced machinery, produce different kinds of foods and carry out quality testing in the lab. Safety and cleanliness is our highest priority, so we’ll show you how to clean equipment properly too.
Who we’re looking for You’ll need to have at least an intermediate school-leaving certificate with good grades in German, English and Maths. The people we’re seeking are also keen to learn about food production; are self-reliant from the start; and care about accuracy, reliability and doing a great job.
